Nissan is looking for an Energy/V2X Innovator (Project Manager) in Silicon Valley to impact decarbonization and support integration of renewable energy sources and zero emission mobility to bring our Ambition 2030 plans into fruition. At Alliance Innovation Lab – Silicon Valley (AIL–SV), we bring artificial intelligence (AI) to mobility and beyond. From developing autonomous driving systems to designing experiences and building future businesses, our researchers apply AI technology to improve mobility for everybody. We are exploring the cutting edge of new technologies and combine with new business models to lay the groundwork for the future of mobility. As an Innovator, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the company’s strategic decisions around vehicle-grid integration via developing partnerships and executing pilots with utilities, EVSE vendors, and other players of the energy value chain. This role provides a hands-on opportunity to develop future mobility and energy concepts. How you will be contributing Manage small and large scale pilots in vehicle-to-home, vehicle-to-building, vehicle-to-grid, etc. in partnership with utilities and EVSE vendors Engage with our research and business partners in the energy sector (from universities to hardware manufacturers, aggregators, and utilities) to identify new services and propose new research and exploration opportunities Propose and scope new pilot projects Conduct business experiments to reduce business risks Use your analytical skills to summarize the results and learnings of pilot projects to advance vehicle-to-grid concepts and business models Monitor VGI trends in the US and propose new VGI studies and pilots Communicate your work effectively through presentations and reports to stakeholders. Requirements for you to succeed in this role Masters in Engineering or Business Administration/Management 5-7 years of relevant experience Demonstrated project management and cross-functional leadership experience Experience in managing commercial pilots and/or experience in managing projects in an innovation lab setting Ability to model future scenarios, identify use cases and quantify business opportunities Ability to identify customer needs and transform them into customer value Knowledge and understanding of value capture & business models Strong ability integrate a project-centric view into the broader roadmap Excellent communication and presentation skills Passion for doing research and development at the edge of human knowledge and desire to bring new innovations to real applications Ways to stand out from the crowd Self-motivated and action-oriented, energetic, able to work in a fast-paced environment Good understanding of the energy and/or EV market and major players Passion for carbon neutrality and building mobility of the future Ability to understand trends and convert them into product/service ideas Manage multiple priorities simultaneously With a focus on Mobility, Operational Excellence, Value to our Customers and the Electrification of vehicles, you can expect to be part of something exciting.
