JOB SUMMARY: The Purchasing Clerk will assist the Purchasing Manager in daily office support functions as needed. The Purchasing Clerk will be involved in the preparing and maintaining files, reports and price lists, purchase orders, other operational items for the department.
Essential Functions Of The Job
- Maintain PO lists, department spend, distribute accordingly.
- Review requisition orders in order to verify accuracy, terminology, and specifications.
- Prepare, maintain, and review purchasing files, reports and price lists.
- Compare suppliers' invoices to weekly bids as well as verify purchase orders totals to confirm accuracy.
- Compile information and historical data for tracking.
- Processes purchase orders for close out.
- Process and prepare various contract documents.
- Process and prepare bid documents for RFQ as well as bid tabulations.
- Maintains various tracking spreadsheets for Purchasing Department and Finance Department.
- Files, maintains, copies and distributes materials as needed.
- Researches vendors and merchandise as needed.
- Reconciles invoice quantities and charges with purchase orders
- Contact suppliers in order to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Skills And Knowledge
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum two years of college credits with concentration in business with two years of purchasing support. OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Intermediate Math Skills.
- Ten-key by touch.
- Must have Valid Washington State Driver’s License.
- Ability to comply with the safe driving program.
- Required to bring in a driving abstract.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point other mainframe applications.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Pass NRWC pre-employment testing.
- Ability to work all shifts including weekends and holidays.
- Requires a Class III Gaming License.
- Associate's degree in accounting or business.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
- Manual and finger dexterity for operation of personal computer and routine paperwork.
- Ability to lift and move file boxes weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to tolerate a smoke-filled environment.
