Job Summary

Perform and direct the installation and maintenance of complex electrical equipment and electronic circuits.

Essential Functions

  • Install, replace, and adjust brushes on exciters and generators while in operation.
  • Undercut and stone commutators.
  • Work on energized equipment and circuits.
  • Perform work on energized equipment in the maintenance of substations, such as, cleaning insulators and coating insulators.
  • Take reasonable care of Company tools and equipment that are assigned to them.
  • Keep assigned equipment and work areas in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Report irregularities and abnormal conditions.
  • Direct and instruct employees assigned to work with them.
  • Assist in training of other employees.
  • Perform similar or less skilled work in this classification or, when the diversity of work load requires, perform similar or less skilled work in equal or lower classifications.
  • Perform duties in accordance with the Company's safety rules and operating regulations and practices.
  • Complete any reports and forms used in connection with the performance of duties.

Required Qualifications For Position

  • Satisfactorily performed the duties of Apprentice Station Electrician or the equivalent.
  • Have a thorough working knowledge of the electrical system, voltages, circuit numbers, and communication systems in use in the Station.
  • Have a thorough working knowledge of the use of wiring diagrams and electrical test instruments.
  • Be able to perform, instruct, direct, and advise others in the performance of all types of station electrical work.

Salary Range*:

$50.76 - $50.76

  • The salary offered to a candidate is based on several factors including but not limited to the candidate’s skills, job-related knowledge, and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity.
