What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entry Level CDL A Truck Driver - Paid Training position at NIS EXPRESS?
Have your CDL-A but no driving experience yet? This is where you start. Klamath Falls drivers can build a career on a western regional fleet that keeps runs short, usually no more than 2 days from home, and trains new CDL holders on the road.
How You Start
- Ride with an experienced driver trainer on real loads
- $675 per week during training
- Move into your own truck on full pay once your trainer signs off
- $1,000 per week guaranteed for your first 3 months of solo driving
The Job
- Dry van freight across the 11 western states
- 1,700 to 2,100 miles per week
- Home every 2 weeks
- Option to run past the western states if you want more miles
Pay
- Average weekly earnings of $1,000 to $1,300
- Standard mileage pay scale that grows with experience
- Up to 6 cents per mile extra in performance bonus
- $15 stop pay

Two Ways to Start
- CDL-A in hand, no experience: 120 hours from an accredited CDL school. Paid training with a driver trainer, paid every week while you learn.
- Experienced drivers: 6 months OTR in the last 12 months, or 12 months in the last 5 years. Skip training and go straight to your own truck.
Everyone Needs
- Class A CDL, 21 or older
- No more than 2 moving violations in 2 years
- Able to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
