Job Description

A Vein Ultrasound Technician, also known as a Vascular Ultrasound Technologist, is responsible for performing non-invasive ultrasound examinations of the vascular system to assess blood flow and identify any abnormalities. This role is essential in diagnosing conditions such as deep vein thrombosis (DVT), venous insufficiency, and other vascular disorders.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and interpret vascular ultrasound examinations, including Doppler studies and venous mapping.
• Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort.
• Operate ultrasound equipment and ensure it is properly maintained and calibrated.
• Analyze ultrasound images and recordings to assess vascular health and identify potential issues.
• Document findings accurately in patient records and communicate results to physicians.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher in diagnostic medical sonography or a related field.
• Certification from a recognized professional body (e.g., ARDMS, CCI) in vascular ultrasound.
