- Greet patients in person or via telephone; provide information and answer basic questions
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments
- Verify patient insurance information and manage patient check-ins and check-outs
- Collect and process patient payments and co-pays
- Maintain and update patient records in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system
- Handle administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and managing correspondence
- Coordinate with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and communication
- Assist with patient referrals and authorizations as needed
- Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and welcoming
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Fluency in English& Spanish
- Ability and willingness to work at least one Saturday each month
- Proficiency in basic medical terminology
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality
- Strong customer service skills, with a professional and friendly demeanor
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar role
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
