Position Summary

Nirvana Dispensary is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our licensed cannabis dispensary. This role ensures full compliance with regulations set by the New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission (NJ-CRC), while driving operational excellence, team performance, and an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Store Management

• Oversee all daily dispensary operations in accordance with NJ-CRC regulations
• Develop, implement, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Monitor KPIs including sales, labor efficiency, and customer satisfaction
  
  

Compliance & Regulatory Oversight

• Ensure strict compliance with New Jersey cannabis laws (N.J.A.C. 17:30)
• Maintain accurate records for NJ-CRC inspections and audits
• Enforce ID verification (21 ) and state purchase limits
• Train staff on compliance, responsible sales, and operational protocols
  
  

Inventory & Seed-to-Sale Tracking

• Manage inventory using systems such as METRC
• Oversee product intake, storage, and reconciliation
• Conduct regular audits and resolve discrepancies
• Ensure compliant labeling, packaging, and storage
  
  

Security & Safety

• Maintain incident reporting and safety compliance
• Ensure a safe environment for employees and customers
  
  

Team Leadership & HR

• Hire, train, schedule, and supervise dispensary staff
• Foster a culture of accountability, compliance, and customer service
• Conduct performance evaluations and coaching
  
  

Customer Experience

• Deliver a welcoming, compliant, and educational retail environment
• Resolve customer issues professionally
• Ensure staff provides accurate product information without medical claims
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as an Operations Manager (retail or regulated industry preferred)
• Strong understanding of compliance-driven environments
• Knowledge of New Jersey cannabis regulations or ability to learn quickly
• Experience with POS and inventory systems
• Proven leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a New Jersey cannabis dispensary
• Familiarity with seed-to-sale systems such as BioTrack or METRC
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or related field
  
  

New Jersey Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Must pass all NJ-CRC-required background checks
• Must be eligible to obtain a New Jersey cannabis worker permit (if required)
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
