Dishwasher/Kitchen Aide
The Kitchen Dishwasher/Kitchen Aide plays a crucial role in ensuring that all kitchen equipment, utensils, and surfaces are clean and sanitized according to food safety standards. This position is essential for maintaining a safe and efficient working environment in our cannabis kitchen.
Essential Job Duties
Dishwashing and Sanitation:
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to clean dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment.
- Ensure that all items are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized according to food safety standards.
- Handle and store cleaned items properly to prevent contamination.
- Assist with general kitchen cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and wiping down surfaces.
- Empty trash and recycling bins regularly and maintain cleanliness in kitchen storage areas.
- Assist kitchen staff with organizing and storing clean dishes and equipment.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handwashing techniques and personal hygiene practices.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries in the kitchen.
- Report any maintenance or safety concerns to kitchen management promptly.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen.
- Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors to coordinate tasks and prioritize workload.
- Assist with other kitchen duties as needed, including food preparation, packaging, and storage.
- Previous experience working as a dishwasher or in a kitchen environment is preferred.
- Ability to operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and hygiene.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from supervisors.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Organized with attention to detail.
- Works well under pressure and deadlines; ability to multitask.
- Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate staff.
- Excellent customer service abilities.
- Ability to develop and maintain budgets.
- Thorough understanding of company policies and practices.
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
- At least one year of retail experience is highly preferred.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking throughout the facility.
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds at times.
