About The Role

The Production Planner ensures stable, reliable execution of Niron’s production operations by developing daily, weekly, and long‑range schedules that align materials, equipment, and labor resources. This role supports operational flow, mitigates bottlenecks, and ensures on‑time delivery for internal and external customers. The Production Planner collaborates closely with Production, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Quality teams to coordinate work, maintain accurate plans, and ensure operational continuity.

What You'll Do

Planning & Scheduling

  • Maintain a rolling 2-week production plan, ensuring clear visibility into short-term priorities and resource needs.
  • Build and maintain long-term production forecasts (monthly / quarterly) to support material planning and staffing.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate daily/weekly production schedules across all assigned areas.
  • Balance labor, equipment, and material availability to maximize operational throughput.
  • Update schedules based on real‑time operational feedback and shifting priorities.
  • Identify upstream and downstream impacts of schedule changes and align stakeholders accordingly.

Cross‑Functional Coordination

  • Collaborate with Production, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Quality to ensure readiness of materials, work orders, and equipment.
  • Facilitate daily or weekly production meetings to review capacity, constraints, and key risks.
  • Communicate schedule changes clearly and promptly to all impacted teams.
  • Provide a concise “health of the plant” update to leadership, including risks, constraints and performance trends.
  • Partner with finance at month-end to review and explain production variances, including scrap, yield, and material / labor usage.

Data & Systems Management

  • Maintain accurate work order status in ERP/MRP systems.
  • Track production performance metrics (schedule adherence, throughput, cycle times, yield, downtime); flag anomalies early with recommended actions.
  • Support root‑cause analysis of delays or misses and contribute to corrective actions.
  • Ensure documentation accuracy for planning inputs and outputs.
  • Contribute to the definition and documentation of business processes required for future MES implementation, including data flows, standard work, and system requirements.
  • Support scoping, evaluation and deployment of MES or advanced planning tool – bridge between current custom-built tools and future systems.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to enhance planning processes, tools, and communication flows.
  • Partner with operations and engineering to streamline workflows or resolve recurring constraints.
  • Contribute to building standardized planning processes as Niron scales.

What We're Looking For

  • 2–5 years experience in production planning, scheduling, supply chain, or manufacturing operations.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems for scheduling and work order management.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to synthesize operational data.
  • Effective communicator who can drive clarity and alignment across teams.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in advanced materials, high‑tech manufacturing, or hardware environments.
  • Familiarity with capacity planning, constraint management, and basic material flow concepts.
  • Understanding of lean, continuous improvement, or operational excellence principles.
  • Experience contributing to MES selection or implementation or defining digital workflows in production environments.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing cost structures, month-end variance analysis, or collaboration with Finance organizations.
