A day in the lifeYou start with preventive rounds: checking pumps (mag drive and mechanical seal), inspecting grinding mills and valves, listening for telltale sounds from compressors, and verifying packaging systems are ready for production. You’ll troubleshoot motor control systems and plant instrumentation, and when needed, jump in to repair a forklift or aerial lift. Throughout the day, you’ll monitor steam generation and cooling/chilling systems, keeping us aligned with state mechanical requirements for fire systems, boilers, and pollution control. When projects call for it, you’ll put your fabrication and piping skills to use—welding and pipe assembly are a plus. You’ll also participate in safety and site improvement programs because better never stops here.
What you’ll handle- Perform planned maintenance and repairs on facility and process equipment: pumps (mag drive, mechanical seal), grinding mills, valves, compressors, and packaging systems.
- Troubleshoot motor control systems and plant instrumentation to restore uptime quickly.
- Service and maintain mobile equipment (forklifts and aerial lifts).
- Support infrastructure equipment, including steam generation and cooling/chilling systems; help maintain compliance with state regulations for fire systems, boilers, and pollution control.
- Apply fabrication and piping skills; welding and pipe assembly experience are preferred.
- Engage in safety initiatives and continuous site improvement activities.
- High School Diploma required.
- Technical School certification or 2–3 years of related experience (or an equivalent mix).
- Experience in automation or fabrication (required).
- Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical and electrical schematics.
- Welding and piping assembly experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
Hourly range: $25.10 to $38.23. Compensation for this role is negotiable based on experience and skill set.
