What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Office Administrator position at Nipomo Wound Clinic?
We are seeking an exceptional Front Desk Administrator for Dr. Steve Clark, DPM at Nipomo Wound Clinic. If you are passionate about providing superior patient care, while contributing to an orderly, efficient work environment, we invite you to apply.
Responsibilities:
The responsibilities are as expected for a medical front-desk administrator role, including typical duties such as greeting patients, entering data, managing phone calls, scheduling patient appointments, handling documentation requests, etc. Additionally, this role is expected to submit insurance authorization requests and track/manage renewals.
Tasks are to be completed accurately, completely and timely, with minimal direct supervision. Due to the inherent risk of providing care for patients with open wounds, a sense of urgency is required to ensure timely scheduling of appointments and order follow-up. Our patient population can be challenging, as many struggle with co-morbidities, transportation issues, and behavioral or home-life issues that make proper wound healing difficult. We strive to create an environment that is understanding and supportive, while encouraging patients to take an active part in their own wound healing. A friendly front-desk administrator that makes the patient feel welcomed and supported is critical to creating a positive environment that the patient will want to return to for the course of their wound healing journey.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with 5 or more years of reliable, consistent performance in a medical office environment. S/he will have good computer skills and solid experience with an EMR, preferably athenaHealth. Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills are a must for this Front-Desk position; Spanish bi-lingual is preferred. Candidates must be willing to pitch-in to contribute as part of a team, as we are a relatively small clinic with limited staff. Our work environment will be best suited to a focused, diligent person who can multi-task, while also paying attention to detail. We are looking for a self-starter, with an ability to anticipate the doctor’s needs and identify opportunities that contribute to the practice’s success.
Employment Package:
We provide a competitive wage range based on prior work experience and an annual performance review process, with the chance to move up in the salary range based on merit. Our benefits package includes health insurance contributions and the opportunity to participate in dental, vision and retirement savings plans. We offer generous paid vacations and holidays.
About Us:
Nipomo Wound Clinic is committed to delivering high-quality evidence-based wound care to our patients. We strive to improve patient outcomes and provide a compassionate, supportive environment for our patients and employees alike. Dedicated individuals working diligently at our clinic are valued and respected. Join our team and make a positive difference in the lives of patients who rely on our specialized care.
