Interim Site Director (French Immersion Preschool)

Location: Jefferson Park, Los Angeles

Schedule: 40 hours/week

Contract: 6 month contract, with potential to extend

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $36,000 / 6-month contract | Includes: Bonus opportunities health insurance stipend

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Site Director to lead our French-immersion preschool in Jefferson Park, Los Angeles. The Site Director will oversee all aspects of daily operations—ensuring excellence in education, safety, compliance, and community engagement. This is a unique opportunity to guide a nurturing, play-based learning environment for children ages 2–5 (30 children capacity).

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the preschool operates in full compliance with California state licensing and accreditation standards.
• Develop and implement educational programs aligned with French immersion principles and early childhood best practices.
• Supervise and support teachers and staff, fostering professional development and a positive team culture.
• Oversee enrollment, marketing, and family engagement efforts.
• Manage budgeting, payroll, and administrative operations for the school, efficiently and transparently.
• Cultivate strong, trusting relationships with parents, staff, and community partners.
• Handle staffing, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
• Maintain a safe, enriching, and nurturing environment for all students.

Qualifications:

• Director permit OR Minimum 15 units in Early Childhood Education, Educational Leadership, or related field, including: Coursework in child growth/development child/family/community program/curriculum AND 3 units in Administration or Staff Relations.
• At least 4 years of teaching experience in a supervised group child care setting.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of California licensing and accreditation requirements.
• Must clear background checks (DOJ, FBI, CACI).
• Proof of required immunizations: T.B., Measles, & Pertussis
• Proof of Orientation, Health & Safety Training and Mandated Reporter
• French fluency or proficiency is a strong plus.
