Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of deli items, including sliced meats, cheeses, salads, and prepared foods with precision and care
- Assist customers in selecting products, offering recommendations and upselling to enhance their shopping experience
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process transactions accurately and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by regularly cleaning work areas, utensils, and food contact surfaces in compliance with food safety regulations
- Restock shelves, organize displays, and ensure the deli area is inviting and well-maintained throughout your shift
- Handle cash transactions responsibly, including cash handling and cashiering duties with accuracy
- Support food safety protocols by properly handling food products, adhering to sanitation guidelines, and managing inventory levels
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation or food service environments such as quick service or fast-food restaurants is preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with an energetic attitude and a passion for serving others
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting while multitasking between food prep and customer interactions
- Basic math skills for cash handling, grocery store transactions, and retail math calculations
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Experience working in a retail grocery store or café environment is advantageous
- Kitchen or culinary experience that demonstrates familiarity with food industry operations
