Nino Development is a trusted name in commercial construction and building technologies across the U.S. Our growing Life Safety Division delivers expert solutions in fire alarm systems, emergency communications, and code-compliant safety infrastructure for a wide range of commercial and industrial facilities. We are currently hiring an experienced and licensed Fire Alarm Technician in Oregon to support our expanding client base in the region.

Position Overview:
The Fire Alarm Technician is responsible for the installation, programming, inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA codes, local regulations, and manufacturer guidelines. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical knowledge, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to life safety. This is a field-based role that requires both autonomy and teamwork, with projects spanning commercial buildings, healthcare facilities, schools, warehouses, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and service fire alarm systems including control panels, initiating devices, notification appliances, and power supplies.
  • Program and configure systems from leading manufacturers (e.g., Notifier, Silent Knight, EST, Siemens, Fire-Lite, etc.).
  • Perform inspection and functional testing of fire alarm systems to ensure compliance with NFPA 72, local fire codes, and client requirements.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues using technical manuals, software tools, and wiring schematics.
  • Provide timely and accurate documentation of work performed, deficiencies found, and recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Interface with AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction) and fire marshals during system acceptance tests or re-inspections.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory to support efficient field operations.
  • Provide outstanding customer service while maintaining a clean, professional appearance and demeanor on-site.
  • Stay up to date on fire safety codes, new products, and technology updates through training and certifications.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3 years of hands-on experience as a Fire Alarm Technician in a commercial or industrial environment.
  • Working knowledge of fire alarm codes, particularly NFPA 70 and NFPA 72.
  • Experience with low-voltage electrical systems and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and system specifications.
  • State of Oregon limited energy license (LEA) or equivalent certification required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently or in a team environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screening as required for safety-sensitive roles.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
