Nino Development has partnered with a highly successful Industrial/Mechanical Contractor in the greater Owensboro, KY area on their search for a Vice President/COO with experience in quality specialty welding, including tube & pipe welding and installation, ASME Code welding on boilers & pressure vessels, equipment removal and replacement, general plant maintenance services, steel fabrication & erection, duct work fabrication & erection and any other shop fabrication projects.

Projects: Industrial - Pulp/Paper, Coal, Renewable and Gas Power Plants, Chemical, Oil/Gas, Food/Bev, heavy Metal Fabrication for Government Contracts and Commercial Projects.

Job Title: VP/COO (10 years)

Comp: $250,000K - $315,000K Bonus Benefits (Negiotable)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Able to perform all essential COO responsibilities
  • Led a team of 100 personnel & annual revenue of $20M in sales (currently)
  • Lead and manage all day-to-day field and shop operations across welding, piping, mechanical services, and industrial maintenance.
  • Ensure operational efficiency, quality assurance, safety compliance, and performance across all active job sites.
  • Develop and enforce operational procedures, metrics, and reporting systems to ensure timely, safe, and on-budget project delivery.
  • Collaborate with field leadership to address project execution issues, resource constraints, and customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with the controller and president to develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial performance targets.
  • Monitor key financial indicators such as job profitability, labor productivity, and overhead control.
  • Ensure accurate job costing and support timely billing, collections, and cash flow management.
  • Guide strategic investments in tools, equipment, systems, and workforce capabilities.

Skills & Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of senior leadership experience in industrial construction or mechanical contracting, with expertise in operations, estimating, and project controls.
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale field operations, complex projects, and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Deep understanding of project cost structures, labor productivity, job costing systems, and scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project).
  • Strong HR acumen, including knowledge of labor laws, workforce development, and organizational planning.
  • Track record of financial leadership, budget management, and delivering profitable growth.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Pay: $300,000.00 - $315,000.00 per year
