Construction Estimator

Nino Development is partnering with a well-established general contractor based in Minneapolis, MN that specializes in multifamily housing. Known for delivering high-quality projects across the region, the company is actively seeking an experienced Estimator to support its growing pipeline of work.

The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical skill, local market knowledge, and a practical understanding of how buildings come together.

Position Overview

The Estimator will be responsible for developing and managing comprehensive cost estimates for ground-up and renovation multifamily projects. This includes analyzing plans and specifications, gathering subcontractor and supplier pricing, and working closely with internal teams to support competitive and well-informed proposals.

Key Responsibilities

• Review project documents and create detailed cost estimates
• Perform quantity take-offs and develop scope breakdowns
• Solicit and evaluate pricing from subcontractors and suppliers
• Collaborate with project management and field teams during bid and preconstruction phases
• Support value engineering and cost analysis discussions
• Maintain historical pricing data and update internal databases
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and jobsite walks as needed

Requirements

• 3 years of estimating experience in commercial or multifamily construction
• Strong understanding of construction systems, materials, and sequencing
• Proficient in reading architectural and engineering drawings
• Skilled in estimating tools and platforms (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore, Excel)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines
• Effective communicator with both internal and external teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with wood-frame or ground-up multifamily construction
• Familiarity with the St. Louis subcontractor market and regional pricing
• OSHA certifications or safety training (preferred, not required)
