Maintenance Technician – Second Shift
Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and facilities used in dairy farm operations. The ideal candidate will help ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operations through preventive maintenance, timely repairs, and effective troubleshooting.
Shift: Second Shift (2:00 PM – 10:00 PM)
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on milking systems, pumps, motors, compressors, conveyors, and farm machinery.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
- Maintain and repair barns, milking parlors, fencing, water systems, and ventilation equipment.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize operational downtime.
- Assist with the installation, setup, and testing of new equipment.
- Follow all workplace safety, sanitation, and biosecurity procedures.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and report equipment issues to management.
- Keep equipment, tools, and work areas clean, safe, and organized.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on maintenance experience in agricultural, dairy, industrial, manufacturing, or mechanical environments.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Ability to work the second shift, including weekends and emergency calls when required.
- Strong problem-solving skills, reliability, and commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience maintaining dairy or milking equipment.
- Knowledge of PLCs, sensors, conveyors, motors, and electrical control systems.
- Experience with plumbing, welding, HVAC, pneumatics, or hydraulic systems.
- Technical certification, apprenticeship, vocational training, or equivalent practical experience.
