Introduction:
The Program Manager will be responsible for successfully planning, organizing, and motivating a diverse program team throughout development and delivery process including all phases of projects, and for delivery management.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in team development while holding teams accountable for their commitments and removing roadblocks to their work.
- Facilitate multi-disciplinary teams in the development of plans, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for completion of a program.
- Oversee and manage execution and/or coordination of day-to-day program activities as required.
- Manage working relationships with key stakeholders, including executive management, business management, vendors, program sponsors, suppliers, and technology management.
- Set program goals that are consistent with technical objectives and the agency’s overall technology strategy.
- Track and communicate a program''s progress from a schedule, cost, and risk perspective to the program team, customers, and program stakeholders.
- Collaborate with peer Program Managers on Tolling program projects.
- Drive consistent program delivery through the entire program lifecycle, including, execution of procurements, definition of program plans, resource allocation, management of program risks, scope, and schedule, delivery of value, and well-ordered transitions to operations.
- Develop and maintain program plans, task lists, schedules, risks, and status, to include resource allocation and schedules.
- Exhibit significant emotional quotient (EQ) in handling program challenges and maintain a positive program culture in line with VDOT’s mission and shared values.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop cross-functional application development teams, including full-time employees and contractors.
Requirements:
- Experience managing people and large programs and a bachelor''s degree (Required).
- Fluency in MS Office tools such as Microsoft Project, Visio, and Office required.
- Experience with Program Management Office methodologies and practices is highly preferred.
- PMP Certification preferred.
- Tolling Experience preferred.
