Title: Medical Office Assistant

Location: Columbus, GA

Role Summary: The medical office assistant is responsible for providing day-to-day support operations by performing administrative tasks and ensuring high-quality customer service to patients. Medical office assistants provide revenue cycle support, scheduling, patient communication, and other key patient related services.

Responsibilities:

  • Using the EMR to document patient clinical data (e.g., medical history and referral information).
  • Patient Registration
  • Schedule appointments and procedures
  • Answer and triage phone calls, follow up with patients, etc.
  • Assist patients with initial paperwork.
  • Accurately update and maintain patients' health records.
  • Communicate test results to patients when directed by physicians or as dictated by operational protocol.
  • Assist patients with re-scheduling appointments and other scheduling issues.
  • Remote Patient Activities
  • copay and balance collection
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of Medical Assistant or Medical Office Assistant experience required; pulmonology preferred.
  • 2 years of EMR experience required; Athena or Eclinical Works, preferred.
  • Formal Medical Assistant or Medical Office assistant training, desired, CMA/RMA certification preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid COVID-19 vaccination desired
  • Genuine passion for patient care-Expected

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour

Experience:

  • Medical Office Assistant: 3 years (Required)
  • Pulmonary or Allergy: 2 years (Preferred)
