Reports to: Ballard Principal, Special Education Director (or designee)
Niles Community Schools is looking for a dynamic Emotionally Impaired (EI) Teacher. Highly-effective communication skills and professionalism required for daily interaction with a diverse workforce, student population, building administration and community.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be certified to teach Special Education and hold an endorsement in Emotional Impairment (SE) K-12 in the State of Michigan
General Responsibilities:
- Utilize a variety of research-based intervention strategies, continually assessing student response to intervention and make modifications as needed to ensure all students are successful
- Act as a case coordinator by preparing for, participating in, and ensuring IEP implementation according to the school process
- Ability to align student goals and objectives with district and state standards
- Ability to understand basic behavioral management concepts and demonstrate the ability to develop, implement, and incorporate appropriate behavioral management techniques
