Estimating and Pricing (E&P) is a strategic business partner throughout the Nightwing organization, creating value by aligning with the business units to provide pricing proposal support for existing contracts and potential new business. We partner at all levels of the company, serving as proactive team members who support and advise proposal teams.

The E&P intern will receive hands-on experience supporting teams responsible for providing pricing support functions for proposal activities to include:

  • Reviewing and analyzing customer Request for Proposals (RFPs)
  • Excel based cost modeling and development
  • Compiling cost and schedule inputs
  • Cost Volume development activities, to include compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and other Government Procurement regulations as they pertain to Cost proposals
  • Internal stakeholder reviews
  • Cost and Profit Margin analysis
  • Subcontractor proposal reviews
  • Developing cross function (Contracts, Supply Chain, Finance, Program Management) relationships

Interns also participate in development sessions to learn technical and soft skills and grow their network. Additional exposure to Nightwing tools, processes, and policies will be gained through on-the-job training.

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • GPA of 3.0 in a 4.0 grade scale
  • An actively enrolled student pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in one of the following disciplines: Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Math, Management, or another related field.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements.
  • Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience with Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, & Word
  • Cumulative 3.5 GPA desired
  • Experience leading a team project
  • Involvement in school or community activities
