Handyman/Maintenance Technician

The Handyman/Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing a wide range of repair and maintenance tasks across various properties. The ideal candidate will have experience in drywall repair, flooring installation, paint preparation, and painting. Skills in electrical and plumbing work are highly desirable.

Duties

• Perform drywall repair, including patching, sanding, finishing and painting if needed
• Install and repair various types of flooring, such as carpet, vinyl, laminate, or hardwood
• Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, and priming.
• Conduct basic electrical repairs, such as replacing outlets, light fixtures, or switches (if qualified).
• Address minor plumbing issues, including fixing leaks or replacing fixtures (if qualified).
• Inspect and troubleshoot property maintenance issues.
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ensure all work meets safety and quality standards.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and clients.
• Help on a carpet cleaning truck – As needed
• Clean air ducts/HVAC maintenance
• Clean out dryer vents – As needed

Qualifications

• Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, is required for effective communication.
• Previous experience in facilities maintenance is preferred, with a strong mechanical knowledge base.
• Strong customer service skills to foster positive relationships with team members.
• Leadership qualities that contribute to a collaborative work environment.
• Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing maintenance needs.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
