Position Summary
Nightingale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dedicated and clinically strong Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing in overseeing nursing operations and delivering exceptional resident care. The ADON plays a key leadership role in clinical excellence, staff development, regulatory compliance, and quality outcomes in our skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Nursing (DON) in planning, organizing, and directing nursing services
- Support compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (CMS, state DOH, survey readiness)
- Promote high-quality, resident-centered care and clinical best practices
- Oversee nursing staff performance, staffing levels, and scheduling as assigned
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, and mentoring nursing staff
- Assist with clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and care plan reviews
- Monitor infection control practices and patient safety initiatives
- Serve as a clinical resource and leader for nursing staff across shifts
- Step in for the DON as needed
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of Pennsylvania (required)
- Minimum 3–5 years of nursing experience, preferably in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Solid knowledge of long-term care regulations and survey process
- Strong clinical assessment, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to lead, motivate, and support nursing teams in a fast-paced environment
