What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bar Back/ Door Attendant position at Nightingale Cocktail?
Our Door Attendant and Bar Back are interchangeable roles that set the tone for each guest as they enter. This team ensures the quality of space throughout the night. The ideal candidate can manage multiple tasks while engaging with customers. Each event may have unique requirements and ours staff need to be open to being flexible for each one.
To do well in this role you should have a strong attention to detail, be comfortable standing for long periods and being able to manage multiple tasks and assignments at the same time as well as be able to provide customers with an outstanding experience.
Due to the nature of moving between positions in the same night, the pay is a higher flat hourly rate as well as tip-out at the end of the night.

Door Attendant Responsibilities:
- Greeting guests as they enter.
- Checking IDs
- Sharing the event of the night
- Collecting Cover
- Requesting alternate options (Example: Text to be added to the guest list)
- Responding to complaints and helping to resolve them.
- Helping out with other positions as needed.
- Providing great customer service.
- Maintain clean entry and exits at all times (Sweeping, cleaning glass doors, picking up Patio)
Barback Responsibilities:
- Clear empty glasses and refill ice bins.
- Restock supplies as needed.
- Maintain the entire front of house area - keeping bar top and tables clean, pick up trash, sweep up broken glasses, maintain bathrooms throughout the night.
- Assist bartenders as needed to ensure fast service to guests.
- Assist with closing duties at the end of the night.
General Requirements:
- A positive attitude and ability work well under pressure.
- Does high-quality work while unsupervised.
- Able to work in a busy nightlife environment.
- Reliable transportation required.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $9.00 - $15.00 per hour
