Position Summary
Nightingale at Glenwood is seeking an experienced Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) to oversee the daily operations of our dietary department within our skilled nursing facility. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience, prior healthcare experience, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to providing highquality nutritional services to residents. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards, supports resident satisfaction, and leads a team dedicated to safe, efficient, and compassionate food service.
Key Responsibilities
Dietary Operations & Management
- Oversee daily operations of the dietary department, ensuring timely and accurate meal service.
- Develop menus in collaboration with the Registered Dietitian to meet resident needs and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and safety practices in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
Staff Leadership & Training
- Supervise, schedule, and evaluate dietary staff.
- Provide ongoing training and coaching to promote high performance and teamwork.
- Support staff retention through positive leadership and clear communication.
Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Maintain compliance with all CMS, DOH, and local health department regulations.
- Conduct routine audits of dietary processes, documentation, and sanitation.
- Participate in care plan meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions as needed.
Resident-Centered Service
- Ensure meals meet resident dietary needs, preferences, and physician orders.
- Address resident and family concerns promptly and professionally.
- Promote a positive dining experience that enhances resident quality of life.
Administrative Duties
- Manage inventory, ordering, and cost control for the dietary department.
- Maintain accurate records, including temperature logs, cleaning schedules, and diet orders.
- Collaborate with facility leadership on budgeting and operational improvements.
Qualifications
- Current Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a skilled nursing facility or healthcare dietary setting.
- Previous healthcare experience strongly desired.
