Shipping / Receiving Quality Technician (Day Shift)

Pay: $20-$25 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM

Night Vision Devices, Inc. is seeking a Shipping / Receiving Quality Technician
to perform incoming inspection and quality control on materials used in the production of high-performance night vision systems. This role is responsible for verifying the quality and accuracy of incoming materials, conducting basic shipping and receiving activities, and ensuring compliance with company standards.

Responsibilities:

• Perform incoming inspections on components, subassemblies, materials, including COTS items, raw materials, and special processes.
• Verify dimensional accuracy using precision inspection tools such as micrometer, caliper, pin gauges, height gauge, multimeter.
• Interpret and understand drawings (blueprints), technical data, and specifications to verify compliance.
• Accurately document inspection results, record defects, and maintain traceability of materials through established logs and quality records.
• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance Director to support root cause analysis and corrective actions when required.
• Receive, inspect, and verify the accuracy of incoming shipments and ensure all materials are properly identified and stored.
• Prepare, pack, and ship finished products, ensuring secure packaging and compliance with internal shipping procedures.
• Support inventory control, material handling, and storage organization in the receiving area.

Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of experience in shipping / receiving, manufacturing, inspection, or quality assurance.
• Ability to read and interpret simple part drawings (blueprints) and understand technical documentation.
• Experience using mechanical measuring instruments (micrometer, caliper, pin gauges, height gauge, multimeter).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
• Good math and measurement skills.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced production environment.
• Enthusiasm to learn new skills.
• Effective communicator with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Comfortable working in a clean, environmentally controlled, warehouse / manufacturing environment.

Preferred Experience (a plus, not required):

• Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards or similar quality management systems.
• Forklift certification or experience.
• Experience in an electronics or mechanical assembly environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move heavier items (up to 600 lbs.) with a pallet jack.
• Must be able to stand / sit for extended periods of time.
