Night Owl Support Systems, LLC (NOSS) provides innovative remote support services that help people with all abilities maintain independence in their own homes. We combine in-home technology with a 24/7 monitoring station and on-call in-person responders to ensure safety, dignity, and peace of mind.
About the Role – Weekend Float Employee
The Weekend Float position is a cross-trained role that covers both Professional Monitor and Responder duties, depending on staffing needs. This role is ideal for someone who is flexible, dependable, and comfortable working in both a call-center environment and in the field.
Weekend Float Employees cover open weekend shifts and may rotate between roles within the same weekend as needed.
Role Responsibilities
Professional Monitor:
- Monitor in-home technology and alerts from the central monitoring station
- Assess situations and follow established written protocols
- Communicate clearly with clients, responders, families, and team members
- Coordinate and provide direction to responding staff when needed
- Maintain accurate documentation and timely communication
- Perform basic troubleshooting of monitoring equipment
- Remain calm, focused, and attentive in a fast-paced environment
Responder:
- Respond in person to client homes when dispatched by the Monitoring Station
- Assist with basic needs such as mobility support, repositioning, or safety checks
- Conduct wellness checks when someone cannot be reached or there is a safety concern
- Document visits clearly and accurately
- Drive between client homes as needed (mileage reimbursed)
- When not responding, rest at the designated responder site
Schedule
- Weekend coverage only: Friday 5:00 PM – Monday 12:30 AM
- Scheduled in a rotating pattern of one weekend on / one weekend off (for a total of 2 float weekends per month)
- Guaranteed minimum 10 hours, maximum 28 hours per weekend
- Scheduled shifts will be provided in advance but may change due to last-minute openings
- Opportunity to pick up additional open shifts during the week at the regular hourly rate, if desired
Compensation
- $200 stipend for each weekend worked. (You earn this stipend simply by being on-call and remaining available between the hours of 5pm Friday and 12:30am Monday on your designated float weekend.)
- $25 per hour for all hours worked on your designated float weekend.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum 1 year of caregiving, DSP, or similar support experience required
- Minimum 2 years of customer service or call center experience required
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Comfort with technology and basic computer systems
- Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and proof of auto insurance
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including providing mobility and transfer assistance, walking short to moderate distances (e.g., between residences or within apartment complexes), and safely standing on step stools as needed to reach or inspect equipment
- Ability to be certified in CPR, First Aid, HIPAA, and Bloodborne Pathogens
- No record of convictions substantially related to job duties
