Position Summary:
The Midwest Sales Manager’s role is responsible for maintaining and growing our sales volume, and account satisfaction and retention, in the assigned territory. This involves regular sales calls with existing customers (retailers and wholesalers) and identifying, pursuing, and selling new accounts. The Sales Representative role is the primary liaison between other departments (customer service, accounts receivable, warehouse & shipping, etc.) and customers in the assigned territory to resolve questions and issues that may arise.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Meet or exceed established Sales Goals and Quotas
- Analyze territory and organize time (sales routes) to ensure effective and regular in-person meetings with retail and wholesale accounts throughout assigned territory
- Review customers’ product selection, pricing and merchandising strategies and make recommendations to maximize sales and inventory turns
- Present and introduce new items to the trade
- Establish, develop, and maintain positive business and customer relationships
- Research and network to identify and develop new account opportunities through cold-calling, sales presentations and closing
- Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction
- Monitor and analyze sales reports to identify opportunities and progress to established goals
- Monitor and report to management on competitive activity in the territory
- Coordinate sales efforts with other team members/departments
- Attend Trade Shows and Customer Events as assigned or warranted
- Strive for continuous improvement
Territory:
- Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and Northern Kentucky.
Requirements and Skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with previous sales experience preferred
- Strong business acumen and analytical skills
- Proficiency with MS Office applications
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented
- AA/AS Degree preferred
- Frequent overnight travel required
- Clean driving record
