Machine Operator
Job Summary: Responsible for transferring products, supplying components and totes to and from
presses throughout the production floor to allow continuous production.
Essential Functions:
- Safety
o Adheres to all safety guidelines and expectations (wear required PPE, follow safety
protocols, and report any safety incidents, accidents, and near-misses in a timely
manner)
o Familiar with and can locate Safety Data Sheet
o Understands OSHA's "Right to Know" Policy
- 5S
o Follow 5S procedure and guidance
o Keep work area clean at all times
- Product Quality
o Good understanding of the NIFCO Quality Policy
o Identification and handling of non-conforming products
o Skill and knowledge to read the Part Quality Standard – "PQS"
o Skill and knowledge to follow the Nifco Packaging Information Form - "NPIF"
o Perform visual inspection checks for part nonconformity (color, flash, spots, shorts,
damage, etc.)
o Inform Molding Supervisor and/or Process Technicians when nonconformity is found
- Machine Tending
o Change totes on tote elevator, conveyor, and bucket stacker as needed
o Correctly label all totes with parts by following standard labeling process
o Respond to alarms by notifying to Supervisor and/or Process Technician
o Move WIP/FG parts to correct locations
o Assemble parts as required (refer to work instructions)
o Rework parts as required (refer to work instructions)
- Other Duties
o Ensure the IATF16949 (latest revision) standard related to Manufacturing are followed
o Other assigned tasks by Molding Supervisor or Production Manager as needed
Education:
- Highschool Diploma or GED
Skills/Experience/Requirements:
- Must complete all safety and environmental trainings required
(e.g.: Lock-out-Tag-out, HAZCOM, Blood Borne Pathogens, Sexual Harassment)
- Must be able to read and understand verbal instructions in English
- Must be able to do simple math calculations
- Must be able to lift up to 55lbs. multiple times during shift
- Must be able to work effectively in a team environment
- Industrial experience preferred but not required
- Must be able to communicate with supervision, management, and co-workers
