Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation, assembly, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems according to project specifications and NFPA codes
- Select appropriate types and sizes of pipe, fittings, and related materials
- Inspect work sites to identify potential obstructions and ensure structural integrity
- Cut, thread, and fabricate pipes as required for system installation
- Connect pipes using threaded, grooved, or cemented joints
- Secure pipes to structures using brackets, clamps, and hangers
- Test installed systems for leaks and proper operation by increasing system pressure and monitoring gauges
- Collaborate with team members and coordinate with other trades on job sites
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols
- Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with industry standards and best practices
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- One to three months of related experience or training preferred, but not required
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and construction documents
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and understanding of fractions and decimals
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Valid drivers license preferred
- Physical ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly (occasionally up to 100 pounds)
- Willingness to work in various environments, including wet or humid conditions, heights, and outdoor weather
Compensation
$20/hr and up (based on experience)
