We have an immediate opening for a 2nd shift Automated Assembly Operator to join our production line. In this position you will be taking parts off of the production line and packing them into totes, along with labeling the totes for what is in them. You will be in charge of several different machines, so you will be on you feet majority of the time. We prefer candidates who have some experience in manufacturing, but we are willing to train the right person. An operator should be a people person who can work well with a team and collaborate with people from other departments.
Common responsibilities for an Operator are:
- Product Quality – areas of responsibility are:
Knowledge of how to read a Part Quality Standard
Good understanding of the Nifco Quality Policy
Visual Inspection check for part nonconformity’s
a: color, flash, spots, shorts, damage, etc.
Inform team leader / mold setter if nonconformity is found
- Machine Tending – areas of responsibility are:
Change totes on tote roller and bucket changer systems and label totes correctly
Respond to alarms by notification to team leader / mold setter
Assemble parts as required- reference work instructions
Pack parts as required- reference work instruction
Label product correctly
Move WIP/FG to correct locations
Rework parts as required- reference work instructions
- Safety – areas of responsibility are:
Ensures Lock Out/Tag Out procedures are followed,
Is familiar with and can locate MSDS sheets and is familiar with OSHA’s “Right to Know” policy
Has basic Environmental knowledge
Positive support of Safety programs and ISO/TS programs
Keep work area clean of debris and clutter
- Other duties:
Behave in a positive manner that enhances the success of department and company
Will be forklift trained if necessary
Other assigned tasks as needed
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- Must be able to read and understand verbal instruction in English
- Must be able to do simple math calculations
- Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds multiple times during shift
- Must be able to work effectively in a team environment
- Industrial experience preferred but not required
- Must be able to communicate with supervision, management an co-workers
- Must pass pre-employment screening
