Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair complex electrical systems in industrial and commercial environments using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment such as ohmmeters.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, electrical drawings, and technical manuals to accurately execute electrical installations and modifications.
- Ensure all work adheres to NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC standards, and local building codes for safety and compliance.
- Diagnose electrical issues through detailed diagnostics involving circuit testing, schematic reading, and system analysis; implement effective solutions promptly.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints for precise installation and modification of electrical systems including low voltage, high voltage, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and industrial electrical systems.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while coordinating with team members.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety procedures by following electrical safety protocols, managing risk assessments, and ensuring all work complies with OSHA standards.
Qualifications
- Valid 01 Journeyman Electrician license or certification with proven experience.
- Extensive experience with industrial electrical systems, including installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of complex circuits.
- Proficiency in reading electrical blueprints, schematics, and building code requirements; familiarity with blueprint review for electrical drafting is essential.
- Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), high voltage systems, low voltage wiring, and electrical diagnostics tools such as ohmmeters.
- Knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC standards, and local building codes related to electrical work; commitment to building code compliance is mandatory.
- Skilled in using hand tools (wire strippers, pliers), power tools (drills, saws), and power equipment safely on construction sites or renovation projects.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures including lockout/tagout practices; experience working on construction sites or renovation projects is highly preferred.
- Ability to interpret technical schematics accurately while reviewing blueprints for electrical drafting purposes; experience managing teams as an electrician is a plus.
