Nielsen Madsen Barber, a long-established civil engineering and land surveying firm located in southeastern Wisconsin, has an immediate opening for an entry-level or experienced Survey CADD Technician. The candidate selected for this position will enjoy working at a professional engineering firm with over 71 years of history and a casual work environment and will have the opportunity to utilize his or her land survey / CADD skills on wide array of land surveying / civil engineering projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Draft surveys, plats, and maps from surveyor’s notes, sketches, and GPS data.Develop conceptual plans, site plans, and detailed construction drawings for public and private improvement projects.Convert raw survey data and drone (UAV) imagery into 2D/3D digital terrain models.Develop grading, drainage, utility, and pavement plans based on designer’s instructions.Create survey exhibits, legal descriptions, and other such documents.Work closely with surveyors and engineers to ensure that all information is accurately represented and in accordance with industry standards and codes. Qualifications: High school diploma / GED minimum; an associate’s degree or certificate in CADD drafting, land surveying, or civil engineering is a plus.3 years of CADD experience with land surveying / civil engineering projects.Proficiency in AutoCAD (especially Civil 3D).Strong understanding of land surveying principles, codes, and standards.Ability to interpret survey notes, read construction plans, and generate point files for field layout.Dependability, thoroughness, and ability to work independently or in a group.Excellent written and verbal commination skills.
