We are seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Receptionist to join our busy law office in Eureka. This is a key, client-facing role—you are the first impression of our firm, and we’re looking for someone who naturally creates a warm, welcoming environment.

This position combines front desk responsibilities, administrative support, and daily court runs/errands. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, punctual, and able to manage multiple priorities with professionalism and ease.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer and route calls on a multi-line phone system; take accurate messages and follow up as needed
- Greet clients warmly, check them in, and create a positive, welcoming office experience
- Provide light hospitality (coffee, etc.) and assist with client comfort in the lobby
- Open and close the office; maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception area
- Perform daily court runs and local errands (filings, pickups, deliveries)
- Receive payments, issue receipts, and communicate payment details to appropriate staff
- Coordinate and maintain a multi-staff calendar, including appointments and deadlines
- File, scan, index, and organize client files (paper and electronic) with strong attention to detail
- Enter, update, and maintain accurate data and records in internal systems
- Maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
- Follow written and verbal instructions carefully; communicate clearly with attorneys, staff, and clients
- Assist with general administrative tasks and support evolving office needs
Qualifications
- Excellent customer service skills and professional phone etiquette
- A warm, personable demeanor with the ability to connect with clients and put them at ease
- Strong organization, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Strong typing and data entry skills with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable using calendars, basic office software, scanners/copiers, and file systems
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable
Requirements
- Reliable transportation and a clean driving record are a must (Daily court runs and errands are an essential part of this role)
- Must be able to qualify as a Notary Public
- Legal Secretary experience preferred but not required
