Position Overview

Nielsen Blinds, Shutters & Shades is hiring a Blinds Installer and Project Lead to support our expanding commercial, multifamily, and residential installation work across the U.S. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, follows process, and is comfortable working on active construction sites.

Our installers work on projects nationwide, so regional and national travel is a normal part of this role, alongside local installs depending on project schedules. Travel can be up to 50% of the time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install blinds and window treatment systems in commercial, multifamily, and residential settings
  • Execute installations accurately based on plans, measurements, and job specifications
  • Work efficiently and safely on active construction sites and in finished spaces
  • Coordinate with the operations team to meet project schedules and site requirements
  • Maintain a professional presence with general contractors, builders, and homeowners
  • Up to 50% Travel to project sites as scheduled, including multi-day trips when required

Travel Expectations

  • Projects may be local, regional, or national depending on workload
  • Combination of local jobs and out-of-state installations
  • Overnight and multi-day travel required for certain projects
  • Company vehicle provided for travel-related installs; travel expenses covered

Physical & Safety Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry 50–75 lbs independently and 75–100 lbs with team assistance
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of materials throughout the workday
  • Comfortable working with arms extended overhead for installation tasks
  • Ability to climb and work from ladders and lifts as required by jobsite conditions
  • Able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods (8–10 hour workdays)
  • Comfortable working in active construction environments, including exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures
  • OSHA 10 certification required
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred
  • Must comply with all jobsite safety requirements and wear required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, high-visibility gear, gloves, etc.)

Qualifications

  • Installation, construction, or skilled trade experience preferred (blinds or window treatments a plus)
  • Comfortable using hand and power tools
  • Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently while traveling
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Job Site Knowledge and Expertise

About Nielsen Blinds, Shutters & Shades

We specialize in professionally managed window treatment installations for commercial, multifamily, and residential projects nationwide. Our team is trusted on complex, large-scale projects because we value safety, execution, and accountability.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
