Objective
The EMC Technician is responsible for testing automotive components, assisting with the development of component test systems, and assisting in various electronic design and development activities. These functions are carried out with excellence and with thoroughness. This position demands attention to detail, accuracy, and technical competence. It also requires some knowledge of automotive EMC specifications as well as knowledge of EMC test methods and procedures. Lastly, it requires an efficient work ethic while maintaining a high level of overall quality.
Essential Responsibilities
Examples of specific responsibilities and tasks include, but are not limited to:
· Perform EMC testing per customer specifications or test plans, including but not limited to: ESD, BCI, Free Field Radiated Immunity, Transients, Radiated Emissions, and Conducted Emissions.
· Create EMC test reports per customer requirements.
- Assists in the development of electronic component test plans.
- Assist in performing test setups off-site and monitor testing.
- Assists in creating new electronic product designs based on customer requests or internal development plans.
- Assists in the development of test systems.
- Assist EMC Engineers in any tasks needed to satisfy the customer.
- Maintain A2LA accreditation including all paperwork and equipment calibrations.
- Performs other job related and support activity duties as required.
- Supports / Implements the ISO14001 Environmental Policy as it pertains to work activities.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Good knowledge/performance of RF test equipment.
- Good understanding of personal computers in the workplace and associated software, such as Microsoft Windows and Office
- Good organizational skills and interpersonal skills

Physical Demand (Special Considerations): While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, kneel/squat, bend, and push/pull/lift up to 50 lbs. Occasionally, they must crawl, handle, and push/pull/lift over 50lbs.
