Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing facility team. This role combines expert welding capabilities with comprehensive industrial maintenance skills to ensure the smooth operation of our production equipment and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. You will play a vital role in supporting manufacturing processes, troubleshooting technical issues, and performing repairs that keep our facility running at peak performance.
Responsibilities
- Perform welding techniques to fabricate, repair, and maintain metal structures and equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on manufacturing machinery, hydraulic systems, electrical panels, and mechanical components.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including low voltage controls, high voltage circuits, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, and industrial electrician components.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as ammeters, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools to identify faults and verify repairs.
- Operate field service equipment including scissor lifts and other aerial platforms for access to elevated work areas.
- Read and interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and maintenance manuals to perform accurate repairs or modifications.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track work orders, parts inventory, and equipment history.
- Support technical sales efforts by providing expert advice on welding solutions or maintenance services when needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards related to high voltage systems, HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration), hydraulics, and general industrial safety protocols.
- Assist with troubleshooting manufacturing issues related to mechanical systems or electrical controls to minimize downtime.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in industrial mechanic work within a manufacturing facility environment.
- Skilled in MIG & Stick welding techniques with demonstrated proficiency in welding standards a plus.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, HVAC/R systems, low voltage electrical systems, schematics, and mechanical components.
- Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and understanding of electrical control circuits.
- Ability to read technical schematics and wiring diagrams accurately for troubleshooting purposes.
- Familiarity with CMMS software for maintenance tracking and documentation.
- Hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments such as ammeters and ohmmeters for diagnostics.
- Knowledge of industrial safety standards involving high voltage systems and field service operations.
- Excellent analysis skills for diagnosing complex mechanical or electrical issues efficiently.
- Strong customer service orientation when collaborating with internal teams or external clients during field service activities.
- Military background or experience in industrial electrician roles is a plus; candidates should demonstrate mechanical knowledge coupled with a proactive approach to maintenance challenges.
