Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our growing dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our office while providing exceptional patient care. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures, as well as proficiency in various dental systems and technologies. We strongly prefer a candidate with both front and back office experience, who can confidently support clinical care while assisting with administrative tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during exams and procedures, ensuring a sterile and organized environment.
- Prepare dental instruments, equipment, and materials for treatments.
- Take and develop dental X-rays.
- Manage patient records and appointments using Dentrix Ascend.
- Assist with prosthodontic procedures and operate a 3D scanner for accurate imaging.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and treatment areas between patients.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of dental supplies to ensure they are well-stocked.
- Ensure patient comfort by addressing their concerns and making them feel at ease before, during, and after procedures.
- Handle front desk tasks as needed, including scheduling and managing patient inquiries.
- Stay current with dental assistant best practices and participate in continuing education opportunities.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- X-ray certification is required.
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a dental assistant.
- Experience in both clinical (back office) and administrative (front office) duties is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Knowledge of Dentrix Ascend is preferred.
- Positive attitude and a team player mentality.
