Litigation Paralegal

Nicola Cummings Law Firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Personal Injury Case Manager to manage PI cases from approval through settlement and litigation. We handle car, truck, Uber/Lyft, rideshare accidents, dog bites, trip & falls, and medical malpractice.

Key Responsibilities

• Contact clients within 24 hours of receiving the file
• Communicate with clients bi-weekly while treating and monthly post-treatment
• Schedule client meetings (bi-weekly during treatment; monthly after)
• Confirm file includes signed ATR, photos/videos, police report, and LOR sent
• Order medical records and respond to correspondence within 5 business days
• Update Work in Progress (WIP): case status, value, and estimated close date
• Identify insurance coverage, ERISA claims, liens, lost wages, and special damages
• Prepare and send at least 3 demand packages weekly
• Negotiate claims with attorney and adjuster to maximize case value
• Ensure settlement checks, releases, and client payment preferences are completed
• Send medical provider checks within 2 business days of receipt
• Close physical, electronic, and case management system files
• Assist with client onboarding when Onboarding Specialist is unavailable

Litigation Duties Required

• Draft and file complaints
• Ensure service of defendants
• Respond to discovery
• Schedule mediations and depositions
• Prepare for trial and attend court as needed

Qualifications

• Personal injury litigation case management experience
• Strong communication, organization, and follow-through
• Ability to manage deadlines and high-volume caseloads
• Experience working with attorneys, adjusters, and case management systems
