Student Conductor

Nickel Plate Heritage Railroad, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and celebrating the history of railroads in Central Indiana. The organization provides engaging themed train excursions and unique railbike rides along the historic Nickel Plate line. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Noblesville, IN, for the position of Student Conductor at Nickel Plate Heritage Railroad. The Student Conductor will assist with train operations, including ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers, coordinating with the train crew, and conducting pre-departure inspections. Day-to-day tasks include providing excellent customer service, communicating safety protocols, assisting passengers during boarding and disembarkation, and monitoring train schedules. The role also involves supporting the team in preserving equipment and maintaining the integrity of the railroad’s operations and heritage.

• Physical ability to perform duties that may include standing for extended periods and assisting passengers as needed
