Front of House (FOH) / Cashier / Expo – Job DescriptionPosition Summary
The FOH–Cashier–Expo team member is responsible for delivering excellent guest service, ensuring accurate order entry, coordinating food delivery from kitchen to guests, and maintaining a clean and welcoming dining environment. This position supports smooth restaurant operations by facilitating communication between guests, the kitchen, and the FOH team.
Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Service & FOH Operations
- Hospitality is your #1 priority - Greet guests warmly, answer questions, and provide menu guidance.
- Take customer orders accurately at the counter or over the phone.
- Support guest service philosophy by ensuring friendly, efficient, and consistent interaction.
- Monitor dining room cleanliness, restock service areas, and bus tables as needed.
Cashier Duties
- Operate the POS system to enter guest orders correctly.
- Process payments, manage cash handling, issue receipts, and follow required money-handling procedures.
- Maintain accuracy and integrity while reconciling sales and payments.
Expo / Food Running
- Coordinate communication between FOH and kitchen to ensure accurate order preparation.
- Verify plate presentation, proper portioning, and order accuracy before delivering food to guests.
- Ensure all modifications, add-ons, and special instructions are followed precisely.
- Organize and manage tickets to maintain service flow.
Restaurant Standards & Operations
- Follow opening, shift-change, and closing procedures for all FOH stations.
- Maintain compliance with hygiene, safety, and uniform standards.
- Support catering order processing when needed.
- Assist with bussing, cleaning, stocking, and general FOH upkeep throughout the shift.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
- Basic math ability and POS proficiency (training provided).
- Team-oriented with a positive, professional attitude.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
