Position Summary:
The Rental Return/Washbay Employee is responsible for receiving returned rental equipment or vehicles, inspecting for damage or wear, cleaning and detailing units, and ensuring all equipment is properly maintained and ready for the next rental. This role helps maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment and ensures customer satisfaction by maintaining company standards of quality and service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers returning rental equipment or vehicles in a professional manner.
- Inspect returned units for damage, cleanliness, and proper operation, record findings on return checklists.
- Clean, wash, and detail equipment or vehicles using appropriate cleaning tools, chemicals, and procedures.
- Refuel vehicles/equipment and check fluid levels (oil, coolant, etc.).
- Report damages, mechanical issues, or safety concerns to the Service Manager or appropriate personnel.
- Move and stage equipment or vehicles as directed within the yard or washbay area.
- Maintain the washbay area, tools, and cleaning supplies in a safe and organized condition.
- Follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with light maintenance, inventory, or yard organization as required.
- Provide excellent customer service and support a positive team environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a rental, automotive, or equipment cleaning environment preferred but not required.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required for vehicle operation).
- Basic mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to work outdoors and perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to safety.
Working Conditions:
- Work performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and manual labor.
