NCI is a full-service general contractor focused on providing premier services in all aspects of the construction process, from concept to completion. We manage a broad range of commercial construction projects, including new construction, tenant fit outs, and renovations. NCI services a diverse group of markets including federal, state, and local governments, as well as a variety of corporate and special industry organizations that require complex life safety and critical infrastructure needs.


Nichols Contracting located in Columbia, Maryland is seeking a Talent Coordinator/Recruiter. The Talent Coordinator/Recruiter will support the Talent Acquisition Specialist II with recruiting, sourcing, retention, community events, job fairs and other activities to support our growing organization. This role will require system management and the ability to assist our TA Specialist with ensuring we are fully staffed in all areas for the organization. This role is crucial in assisting us in meeting our hiring goals for the current and upcoming expected growth of the organization. The role will develop relationships with the hiring managers and understand their needs. The role will be instrumental in communicating with and actively searching for applicants that will embrace our core values and support our mission.The role will require occasional travel to work sites, job fairs, community events and our Florida offices. Duties to include but not limited to:


Essential Functions:

  • Work with TA Specialist on strategies to attract and retain talent
  • Source and identify talent to fill crucial roles
  • Support TA specialist with job fairs
  • Work with Marketing to ensure adequate marketing materials and supplies are ready for events.
  • Manage vendor relationships
  • Manage our social media presence as it relates to attaining talent and communicating our employee value proposition
  • Work with the HR Administrator to ensure a seamless onboarding experience for new employees
  • Support HR team with employee events
  • Manage the ATS system making sure it is updated and utilized to its fullest capacity
  • Build, manage and engage a pipeline of experienced applicants
  • Manage and coordinate intern and apprenticeship program serving as main point of contact and supporting the TA Specialist with program details and preparation
  • Representing NCI at industry events
  • Assist with onboarding; reference checks, setting up and planning new hire events and scheduling interviews.
  • Maintain compliance with all hiring and interviewing
  • Other duties as assigned


Desired Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Communications, Business or related degree
  • Minimum 1 year of experience sourcing and identifying talent across multiple disciplines in a growing company. Recruiting in the construction industry is preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective communication
  • Has proven ability to provide exceptional customer service

Salary : $60,000 - $80,000
