Responsibilities
- Assist classroom teachers with daily instructional activities, lesson implementation, and classroom management strategies
- Support students with special needs, including those with autism and developmental disabilities.
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt curriculum materials to meet diverse learning requirements
- Facilitate communication using American Sign Language (ASL) when appropriate.
- Engage children in literacy, math, and other foundational subjects through creative lesson planning and hands-on activities
- Promote positive behavior management techniques to foster a respectful and inclusive classroom environment
- Support early childhood development initiatives, including toddler care, preschool activities, and Montessori-based learning approaches
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, including preschool or private school environments
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices
- Familiarity with special education strategies, behavior management techniques, and curriculum development for diverse learners
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and team members
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges such as autism or other special needs
- Strong classroom management skills combined with patience, adaptability, and a proactive attitude
- Relevant certifications or training in early childhood education, literacy education, or related fields are advantageous
