What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wrestling Coach position at Nicholas A. Ferri Middle School?
The Johnston Public Schools invites applications for the following coaching position:
* Wrestling Coach- Ferri Middle School
* Season runs: 11/17/25 until 2/14/2026
COACHING REQUIREMENT
All Rhode Island Interscholastic League Coaches (Varsity, Junior Varsity, Freshman, Volunteers) MUST be certified.
In order to coach in a RIIL member school, the person must have:
1.A valid Standard First Aid/CPR course;
2.Completed the National Foundation of High Schools (NFHS) Concussion Course and Sudden Cardiac Arrest Course;
3.A National Background Criminal Investigation (BCI) check through the RI Attorney General’s Office;
4.Obtained a certificate of completion for the RIIL Coaches Education Program which includes the NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching Course and the RIIL Rules and Regulations Test, within six (6) months of appointment; and
5.Completed the NFHS Sport Specific Course, if available, within twelve (12) months of appointment.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT
Applicant must have either high school or middle school or collegiate playing/coaching experience in the sport, or considerable equivalent experience in order to be considered. Coaching/playing experience in specific sport required.
