What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant (Part-Time) position at Niche Hand Surgery and Orthopedics?
This is a unique opportunity to join a forward-thinking and innovative orthopedic surgery practice. The work shift will generally be on Mondays, Tuesdays, and/or Thursdays, with opportunities for additional shifts if desired. Health professions, pre-med and pre-nursing students are encouraged to apply.
Job Description
- Prepare exam rooms prior to patient arrival
- Record patient's medical history, height and weight, and vitals
- Apply braces
- Educate patients on cast and brace care
- Schedule patient appointments
- Schedule surgeries and coordinate perioperative patient needs as indicated
- Respond to phone calls
- Triage patient concerns
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to multi-task
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Experience with obtaining prior authorization and communicating with insurance companies is a plus
- Phlebotomy experience is a plus
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of clinical experience preferred
- CCMA, CMA, RMA or ROT
