About Us: Nic Junior’s is a chef-driven Tavern rooted in elegance, hospitality, and story. Founded by seasoned restaurant professionals, our lead chef was nominated as a semi-finalist by the James Beard Foundation as Outstanding Chef and our executive team has a deep understanding of hospitality and professionalism in food service. We are in the heart of downtown Chicago in a small format, beautiful space nestled between Michigan Avenue and the Trump Hotel. We offer everything from fresh raw bar seafood, to prime steaks and an amazing cocktail driven bar. 

Job Overview: We are seeking a polished, professional presence with a strong personal presentation, engaging, warm personality who is well-organized, and a service-oriented Host to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality, thrives in a team environment, and possesses strong communication skills to ensure every guest feels welcome and valued.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests warmly, creating an inviting atmosphere.
• Manage reservations and seating arrangements using Tock, or other reservation systems.
• Maintain an organized and efficient seating plan to maximize guest satisfaction and restaurant flow.
• Communicate effectively with guests and team members to ensure smooth coordination and excellent service.
• Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and special requests professionally and promptly.
• Monitor the dining room to anticipate guest needs and respond proactively.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the front-of-house areas.
• Support team members during busy periods by assisting with tasks as needed.
• Uphold the standards and values of fine dining hospitality at all times.
• Adherence to our professional uniform and grooming standards is required. 

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Possess or be willing to obtain ServSafe and BASSET certifications before the employment start date.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multitask.
• Maintains a positive attitude and displays a genuine desire to help others.
• Thrives in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
• Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
• Previous fine dining hosting experience and familiarity with Open Table is preferred but not required.
