Position Summary
This position is based in Nampa, Idaho. The Quality Control Inspector’s primary responsibility is to identify and mitigate risk during the module production at the factories through the implementation of Nibbi’s Quality Control Program. The QC Inspector will spend the majority of their time in the modular manufacturers factory, providing oversight on all module production. Occasional travel is required. This position reports to the Director of Nibbi Prefab.
Essential Functions
- Perform inspections during production and oversee testing, with special emphasis on roofing, windows, doors, siding, waterproofing, MEPF penetrations, and other areas at high risk for water intrusion.
- Manage warranty issues and repairs of all modules.
- Maintain effective relationships with clients, construction managers, consultants, architects, engineers, project teams, factories, and subcontractors.
- Collaborate with project team members and field personnel.
- Promote Nibbi’s standards of quality and safety.
- Ensure all associated and applicable elements in the Nibbi Prefab Modular QA/QC Manual are adhered to and constructed properly in the factory.
- Represent Nibbi in a professional manner.
- Assist Preconstruction Project Executive with document management, risk management, and client relations of assigned projects from pre-construction through to production of modules.
Responsibilities
- Participate in turnover of modular units from factory to Operations.
- Participate in all pre-installation meetings.
- Perform factory inspections during production and create QC Inspection reports.
- Respond to all Consultant factory inspection reports.
- Track rework items to completion.
- Monitor air and/or water testing of residential and commercial window systems.
- Provide photo documentation of all in-wall systems prior to cover up, all production status, and QC issues.
- Develop and maintain a summary of product Lessons Learned.
- Continuous learning related to materials and assembly procedures.
- Manage all Module Data Loggers, and check data at regular intervals.
- Manage project files and flow of information for assigned project.
- Manage as-built drawings.
- Keep all plans up to date.
- Manage RFIs.
- Manage submittals.
- Maintain procurement log.
- Maintain coordination log.
- Take meeting minutes as required.
- Conduct meetings when needed.
- Attend company and industry events (meetings, trainings, workshops, trade shows, etc.)
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a quality control role on construction projects/in modular factories or 5 years’ experience in a field supervisory role in the construction industry and/or with modular manufacturers. Candidates must have knowledge of the general building trades, sequence of work, water penetration issues, and window/door installation procedures and warranty policies. Key competencies are initiative, organizational skills, effective communication, teamwork, dependability, and managing for results.
Field experience addressing work in place conditions and working with construction process.
Must be familiar with building enclosure/window testing (ASTM E1105, E283, E331, and equivalent)
Must be familiar with enclosure-related reports and window test data/certifications.
Ability to write technical field reports.
International Code Council Certification, Registered Roof Observer credentials or equivalent is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or applied science-related fields or equivalent work experience.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required. Experience using Procore and Bluebeam is preferred.

The Quality Control Manager is regularly required to:

The expected salary range for this role is between $65,000 and $85,000 annually, depending on experience.
