Job Description Summary |
Adjunct Faculty are responsible for teaching advanced practice nursing students in the clinical setting in one of the following specialization areas: Family Nurse Practitioner or Nursing Education. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to and excellence in graduate teaching. |

Responsibilities |
-Serve as a model of professionalism and act as a resource for students within the teaching-learning environment -Maintain required certifications/licensure and demonstrate continuing competence in area of expertise (as applicable) -Participate in all course orientations with Faculty/Program Director as well as orientations related to Canvas, technology, and information resources needed to fulfill teaching responsibilities prior to the start of the class -Initiate and maintain ongoing communication with the Program Director and full-time course faculty in a timely fashion. Provide anecdotal documentation as needed -Comply with all requirements of the College of Nursing for teaching -Comply with all Niagara University expectations for teaching, including posting of syllabi, use of technology, providing students with contact information, responding to students within a reasonable time, being available for communicated office hours with students, following the course grading expectations, and posting grades in accordance with the expectations of the university -Be responsible for competence for classroom/technology use and teaching at the site -Complete self-evaluation of course and review student evaluations of course as a method of ongoing evaluation each semester |

Minimum Qualifications |
For Nursing Education: Master's or higher degree in Nursing (degree in Nursing Education preferred) from an accredited institution. Current unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse in New York State. Minimum of two years nursing practice experience required. Teaching experience preferred. Must have flexibility to be available for students. For Family Nurse Practitioner: Board-certified FNP, PNP, ACGNP, ANP, or WHNP. Must be licensed to practice in New York State with a minimum of one year full-time NP practice experience; must have schedule flexibility to be available for students. |

Preferred Qualifications |
Prior teaching experience and familiarity with utilization of a learning management system preferred. |

Salary : $3,500 - $5,000
