About the Role
This role keeps production moving. The Material Handler is the connection between receiving, inventory, and the manufacturing floor, making sure the right materials are in the right place at the right time. It’s a physically active, fast-paced role that requires someone organized, dependable, and comfortable working across multiple areas of the operation. This is a 1st shift position, Monday through Friday, 8-hour days with occasional overtime. This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement with IBEW Local 41.
What You’ll Do
- Verify shipments and perform product inspection, counts, and weights
- Load and unload trucks; deliver materials to departments using hand trucks and equipment
- Prepare materials for shipping; assemble wooden and cardboard containers using hand and power tools
- Create supply order requests, store shipping materials and supplies, and complete cycle counts
- Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and tow motors (certification required)
- Work at elevated levels using ladders and harness as required
- Use a Windows-based handheld computer scanner
- Carry out verbal and written instructions from supervisors
- Uphold NPT’s standards for safety, quality, and productivity on every job
What We’re Looking For
- Basic computer skills and comfort with handheld scanning equipment
- Good math skills and effective problem-solving abilities
- Professional and dependable with strong attention to detail
- Reliable and able to work on 1st shift
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently; two-person or mechanical lift for heavier items
- Ability to carry boxes up to 40 lbs up to 50 feet
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions as needed
